Surprise police arrest woman for sexual conduct with minor

Police arrested a woman in Surprise last week on multiple counts of sexual conduct with a minor, according to court documents.
The woman, 18-year-old Karen Molina-Pompa, was previously in prison for her connection with a murder in 2013.
On Jan. 11, Surprise Police Department officers learned from the 14-year-old victim’s mother that her daughter had sexual intercourse with a woman identified as Molina-Pompa. The mother found messages on her daughter’s cell phone, causing a discussion about the girl’s experiences, according to records.
Records state the victim told police she was in love with Molina-Pompa and they had planned their encounters.
Police arrested Molina-Pompa at her residence on Feb. 28. She was charged with four counts of sexual conduct with a minor, according to the Maricopa County Superior Court website.
The four incidents occurred between Dec. 1, 2015 and Jan. 31, 2016. All are class 2 felonies.
Molina-Pompa was a minor at the time of a Peoria murder in 2013. A jury found Michelle Dawn Gibson guilty of conspiring with her children and their friends to kill her husband, Steven Gibson, according to a 2014 news release. Molina-Pompa had held Gibson down during the attack and helped move his body to the garage.
