Surprise poised to hire first female city manager

Davis expects promotion to replace Wingenroth Tuesday

The Surprise City Council is expected to promote longtime city worker Andrea Davis to city manager when it meets on Tuesday.

If she is approved to replace Bob Wingenroth, who is leaving at the end of the month, the hiring will mark a big milestone in the 65-year-old city.

Davis would become the first full-time female city manager in the city’s history.
