Surprise PD puts bean bag rounds back on streets

Surprise Police Department officials confirmed Thursday the department reinstated the use of bean bag rounds as a potentially non-lethal measure after taking the ammunition off the streets earlier this month.

Phoenix, Surprise, Goodyear and Buckeye police departments had suspended use of the bean bag munitions program in mid-October.

Phoenix Police officials did not immediately respond to questions Thursday about whether bean bag rounds were reinstated at its department.
