The Surprise City Council on March 1 hired internal auditor Carol Holley to the new role of city auditor under a new structure it approved at its previous meeting.
Holley, who started up the city’s internal auditing program in 2016, will now work independently under the Surprise City Council instead of under the direction of the City Manager’s Office. Under her leadership, the city started an Audit Committee.
“It has been a fantastic journey for me,” Holley told the council before they approved her contract, which calls for a base salary of $150,000.
