Surprise mayor proclaims it Economic Development Week

Posted

Surprise Mayor Skip Hall has proclaimed the week of May 9 to 13 as Economic Development Week in the city of Surprise, joining communities across North America in celebrating and recognizing the contributions made by professional economic developers to create more economically vibrant and livable communities.

The Surprise Economic Development Department will be kicking off a people-focused social media campaign for Economic Development Week 2022, which will showcase the essential elements the department is championing to create a better, more livable city.

These are the elements of infrastructure, innovation, workforce development, retailer and restaurant attraction and local business appreciation — all of which contribute to a better quality of life for people.

The department is using the hashtag #PeopleAreOurWhy to emphasize the week-long promotion on social media.

Join the fun and share the Surprise Economic Development Department’s Economic Development Week posts May 9 to 13 on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn!

Created in 2016 by International Economic Development Council (IEDC), the largest international professional trade association for economic developers, Economic Development Week aims to increase awareness for local programs that create jobs, advance career development opportunities and improve the quality of life in communities everywhere.
