The city of Surprise Marketing and Communications Department earned two wins in the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors’ 38th Annual Government Programming Awards.
Surprise took first place in the “Community Awareness” category for the March 3, 2023, episode of Surprise Lately.

The city of Surprise Marketing and Communications Department earned two wins in the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors’ 38th Annual Government Programming Awards.
Surprise took first place in the “Community Awareness” category for the March 3, 2023, episode of Surprise Lately.
This bi-weekly news-style show highlights the city's events, programs and offerings. This winning episode provided a fun and exciting preview of the 2023 spring training season.
The city also earned an Award of Distinction in the “Public Affairs” category for our 2023 State of the City feature presentation.
The almost 30-minute video weaves the achievements of the city over the past year into an engaging story that also highlights our new Surprise Public Library System.
NATOA’s awards program honors excellence in broadcast, cable, multimedia and electronic programming produced by local government agencies.
This year, NATOA received more than 950 entries submitted by local governments nationwide.
The Surprise Marketing and Communications Department shares the achievements and activities of the city government through videos like these, as well as its website, quarterly Surprise Progress Magazine, media releases, social media and more.
