Surprise lays out land for truck traffic

Council approves fix for illegal parking in city limits

The Hope Drive alignment is completed between Cactus Road and Peoria Avenue to the north and south and Dysart to Litchfield roads to the east and west to provide 22 spots for truck drivers.

The Surprise City Council is hoping it has at least a temporary fix for semi trucks parked illegally on city streets.

The council voted 6-1 on Feb. 20 to create up to 40 official spots across three areas in the city as more truck traffic parks around Surprise.

The city is also telling drivers not to park their trucks in city rights of way or other city streets.
