Surprise interested in another ride for e-scooters

2nd pilot program could be expanded

The city of Surprise appears poised to take electric scooters for another ride.

After initially trying out a pilot program in 2020 that was cut short because of COVID-19, the Surprise City Council indicated Sept. 7 that it’s interested in a second pilot program with possible changes to it.

“I don’t have a problem trying it again,” District 6 City Councilman Chris Judd said at the council meeting. “I thought the last operator did a very good job of maintaining cleanliness with the program.”
