OPINION — After two months of watching the Surprise City Council, it appears nothing is being done, as I predicted six weeks ago. $70 million in taxpayer money for an empty warehouse! Is everyone in Surprise that gullible? Our government thinks so.
$300 million taxpayer dollars for remodeling? Is anyone asking why not build a new facility near border entry points? Why not upgrade federal prisons or courthouse jails?
$370 million looks like plenty of money for Trump and MAGA politician kickbacks and sweetheart contracts to me. Private prison investors (watch their stock market prices) are buying government prisons for crazy prices. It’s like our hospitals all over again.
