Surprise hosting signups for youth sports leagues, clinics

The Surprise Parks and Recreation Department is offering youth soccer, tee ball, baseball, softball and volleyball leagues along with sports skills classes and clinics this spring.

Registration for spring sports runs through Friday, Jan. 26. Late registration starts Monday, Jan. 29.

For youth soccer, tee ball, baseball, softball and volleyball, leagues are for boys and girls, ages 4 to 17 (as determined on or before May 31).

The season starts in early March and runs until mid-May. Games are played on Saturdays and/or weeknights.

Practice times are up to the volunteer coach and are usually one hour, once a week. (5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.)

Surprise is also offering a variety of skills classes and clinics for ages 7 to 15, including soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball and lacrosse.
