Johnson currently oversees 250 employees at Fry’s, located at Greenway Road, near the Loop 303. As store manager she is responsible for day-to-day store operations including driving sales, employee retention, company morale and maintaining a welcoming store environment.

“I am incredibly honored to receive this award and so thankful to my colleagues across the industry for this recognition,” Johnson said. “I am also grateful to the talented and dedicated Fry’s associates I work with every day. Fry’s has been my home for 35 years, and I have grown so much personally and professionally in my time with the company. I want to express my appreciation to those who have mentored and supported me throughout my career. I am humbled and blessed.”

Johnson is one of Fry’s most tenured and highly regarded leaders. She is known around the company for her outstanding commitment to customer service and her ability to make meaningful personal connections.

Over the years, several of Johnson’s customers have followed her Fry’s journey, moving with her to each store location. Johnson is also committed to helping pave the way for new Fry’s talent. She said one of her biggest goals before she retires is to ensure she leaves behind a strong legacy and talent pool for the company.

“Barbara is a well-respected and an influential member of our team,” said Monica Garnes, president of Fry’s Food Stores. “She has dedicated 35 years to helping us build trust in Arizona through her commitment to exceptional customer service. We are so grateful for Barbara’s leadership and are incredibly proud of her accomplishments.”
