Surprise Council stops Sycamore Farms rezone plans

Vote to continue will require changes to project

The six different applications for rezoning in the Sycamore Farms PAD combined into one action item may not split back up, or at least face significant changes.

During its May 2 meeting the Surprise City Council made it clear it would not approve any of the rezones except for the parcel that has Home Depot and a grocery store planned.

Because of the interconnected nature of the plans, which include a high density apartment complex and two smaller casita-style properties, developer representatives said they would prefer the entire proposal was continued so they can rework it.
