From Head Start classrooms to housing and homeless assistance, Surprise and Maricopa County officials unearthed the makings of a one-stop community and resource center to serve the vast needs of northwest Valley residents.
Past and present government officials attended a ground breaking ceremony on Jan. 15 at 15808 N. Hollyhock St. where the new 35,000-square-foot Surprise Community & Resource Center will be built by spring 2026 in the area steeped in Surprise history and nostalgia.
Seth Dyson, Surprise Human Service & Community Vitality director, spoke during the groundbreaking about how special “the very grounds we stand on today,” is for the future facility to be on a historical site.
