Transportation, public safety to be bolstered with passage

Surprise voters appear poised to pass two bond questions in a special election Tuesday night, giving the city $100 million in projects with which to work over the next few years.

In initial results released late Nov. 7, voters are saying yes to $66 million in transportation projects and $34 million to public safety projects.

Question 1, which focuses on the transportation projects, had 57.7% approval in the first batch released.
