Surprise-based Stage Left earns 18 ariZoni nods

Stage Left Productions’ presentation of “26 Pebbles,” which was on stage in June, received received three nominations in the ariZoni Theatre Awards. The Surprise-based theater received 18 nominations total.

Surprise-based Stage Left Productions earned recognition for its productions this year by being nominated in several categories for the ariZoni Theatre Awards of Excellence.
This past season, there were over 200 productions judged from more than 30 ariZoni member theaters, with close to 3,500 eligible nominees across the categories, according to a news release.
Award ceremonies for youth and adult winners will be held at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts on Monday, Oct. 2. Tickets are on sale now for the award ceremonies.

• Best overall production for a youth play: “26 Pebbles”
• Actress in a major role for a play: Lauren Isherwood in “Collected Stories”
• Actress in a major role for a play: Polly Chapman in “Collected Stories”

• Actress in a major role for a youth play: Anora Biggs in “Lost Girl”

Stage Left Productions was founded in 2016 and in its inaugural season performed at the Ventana Lakes Yacht Club in Peoria.
In 2017, Stage Left moved its performance space to the Paradise RV Resort Ballroom in Sun City and began Stage Left Productions Jr., for kids ages 7 to 19.
In 2018, Stage Left secured a permanent home at the Bell Mar Plaza in Surprise. Thanks to donors Stage Left raised more than $850,000 to build out the space, with an 80-seat theatre.
Amber Ryan came on board in 2019 as the official youth education director and created a Home School Youth Theatre Program.
