Surprise Assistant City Manager Terry Young announces retirement

Ex-police chief leaving city manager’s office

Not only is the Surprise looking to fill a city manager position, but the assistant city manager spot is opening up, too.

Former police chief Terry Young, who took the position earlier this year, is retiring.

“Terry proved himself of being one of the most capable human beings I have ever met in my entire life,” City Manager Mike Frazier said at the Aug. 17 city council meeting. “I would trust my life with him.”
