Surprise amends transit deal with Valley Metro

City to continue express bus routes, paratransit, RideChoice

Surprise has amended its contract with Valley Metro Regional Public Transportation Authority as the cost of transportation goes up.

The Surprise City Council unanimously voted on June 20 to a new fee schedule with Valley Metro for the 571 Express bus route, the regional paratransit program and demand transit services through the RideChoice program.

Surprise officials are estimating that the cost of operating those services for the city will be about $1.7 million for the year.
