Use of surgical robots rising in Arizona; Researchers say 1.4M joints redux by 2040

Along with the rapidly increasing population of retirement-age citizens has come a corresponding acceleration in the adoption of medical robotic technology in the U.S.

That technological advancement is evident by the introduction of new robotic surgical equipment at area hospitals to treat a range of ailments, with implications not only for seniors, but for patients of all ages in Arizona.

Just this week, Abrazo Health announced the addition of a Mako robotic system at its Abrazo West Campus in Goodyear.
