Supt. Horne rebuts opinion on DEI

OPINION — The author of the recent Women’s Watch opinion on DEI used the words diversity, equity and inclusion in their traditional meanings.

In their traditional meanings they are obviously positive. But as used by the ideological left, their meanings were perverted:

• Diversity means stereotyping and achieving diversity by group instead of by individual.
• Equity means equal results by group, rather than focusing on individual merit regardless of group.
• And inclusion means inclusion of members of favored groups. Others need not apply.
