Superstition Fire and Medical District facilities may reopen to the public in April if COVID-19 cases ease from their recent spike.
The SFMD board of directors at a January meeting voted unanimously to remain closed to the public and reevaluate the policy in February. On Feb. 16, the board discussed reopening its facilities, but did not vote on when.
“No formal decision, just support of revisiting the conversation next month with the goal of reopening facilities in April,” SFMD Fire Chief John Whitney said in an email.
