Suns bring in new talent for second-half run

The Suns are gearing up for the second half of the NBA season with some new ammunition in hopes of making a long run this playoff season.

On Thursday, the team announced it had acquired swingman forward Royce O’Neale from the Brooklyn Nets and forward David Roddy from the Memphis Grizzlies in a three-team trade — a move to solidify the team’s bench, according to a press release.

“Royce and David both bring a competitive mindset and defensive intensity that improves our team as we continue our drive to win an NBA Championship,” said James Jones, Suns president of basketball operations and general manager in a press release. “Royce is a very intelligent and disruptive defender, capable of guarding multiple positions, also adding significant playoff experience and reliable 3-point shooting to our roster. David possesses exceptional strength and physicality, bringing energy whenever he steps on the court.”
