Sun Health resale shops honored

Receive congressional recognition

Posted

In honor of dedicated community service, the volunteers and staff of the Sun Health Resale Boutique and Sun Health Resale Shop received congressional recognition.

The Congressional Recognition Award is presented by the U.S. House of Representatives and the Office of Congresswoman Debbie Lesko in Arizona’s 8th Congressional District. The Award is presented to an individual or nonprofit, church or charity in AZ-8 who assisted residents in their community. This recognition honors members of the AZ-8 community who strive to make the lives of others better.

“Volunteers and staff, you make a difference for everyone every day,” said Monica Yelin, congressional outreach director, during her presentations to each shop. “We’re celebrating your achievement because you’ve touched many lives and we cannot thank you enough for all you do. Thanks to you, you’re contributing to the improvement of programs with Banner and Sun Health Wellness through proceeds from sales that benefit people in our community.”

Shop officials were pleased with the honor.

“On behalf of all of our volunteers and staff, thank you for this recognition,“ said Sue Slezak, Sun Health Resale Shops retail manager. “We’re so proud to be a community partner in supporting the health and wellbeing of our community. In almost 40 years, proceeds returned to the community from both shops total more than $8 million.”

Each Sun Health boutique-like shop offers a remarkable selection of vintage, collectables and specialty items — some that are unique and one-of-a-kind. Shoppers enjoy a selection of distinctive and quality items and save money too.

For more information about volunteering, or to join the weekly email alerts for upcoming sales, call the Sun Health Resale Boutique, 9843 W. Bell Road, Sun City, at 623-974-2000 or the Sun Health Resale Shop, 14445 R.H. Johnson Blvd., Sun City West, at 623-584-3869.

To donate items, call 623-974-1010. The Sun Health Resale Shop is operated in partnership with the Sun City West Foundation.
