While more Americans are living longer than ever, Sun Health is turning the spotlight on the question of what one can do to not only increase the years they live in good health, but also be free from chronic pain, with strong cognitive function and a sense of emotional well-being and connection.
This fall, the Arizona-based nonprofit will host its signature LiveWell Conference, an event that offers a science-backed look at what it means to age well.
Taking place Nov. 13–14, at Midwestern University in Glendale, the two-day event brings together nationally recognized experts in health, longevity and purpose. From brain health and physical vitality to emotional wellness and social connections, the LiveWell Conference helps attendees discover how to take a more active role in shaping their future well-being.

Headlining the conference is Arthur C. Brooks, Harvard professor and #1 New York Times bestselling author of 13 books, including “Build the Life You Want” in 2023, co-authored with Oprah Winfrey, and “From Strength to Strength: Finding Success, Happiness, and Deep Purpose in the Second Half of Life.” Brooks is one of the world’s leading experts on the science of human happiness, appearing in the media and traveling the world to teach how they can live happier lives and bring greater well-being to others.
“In the first half of life, ambitious strivers embrace a simple formula for success in work and life: focus single‑mindedly, work tirelessly, sacrifice personally, and climb the ladder relentlessly. ... It turns out the second half of life is governed by different rules,” Brooks says. “This conference is about empowering people to start designing a life filled with meaning and connection”
Joining Brooks is Maddy Dychtwald, author of national bestseller “Ageless Aging” and co-founder of Age Wave and a leading voice on the social and economic impact of aging.
“According to the most recent science, up to 90% of our health and well-being is within our control,” Dychtwald adds. “It’s more than just about diet or sleep—there is a holistic recipe that also includes things such as managing stress, social connections, brain health, even finances—and they are all interconnected. The power to live better, longer, and happier is within your reach.”
Dychtwald’s presentation will combine data-driven research and insights on how we can boost healthspan, brainspan and lifespan.
The LiveWell Conference aligns with Sun Health’s long-standing mission to support healthy living for adults across Arizona. In addition to Brooks and Dychtwald, planned speakers include experts in physical health, cognitive health and social and emotional well-being.
“We believe people deserve not just a longer life, but a better one,” said Nora Hannah, chief engagement officer at Sun Health. “This conference is about equipping people with knowledge, inspiration and a community of support.”
Ticket options include general admission and a VIP Experience Pass with exclusive access to a reception with Arthur C. Brooks and a signed copy of his book. Early bird pricing is available until Aug. 31. To register or learn more, visitlivewellconference.org.
