The next Sun City West Sportsman’s Club meeting is Monday Dec. 11. Members and guests can meet with various group leaders beginning at 1 p.m. in the R.H. Johnson Social Hall. There will be a short business meeting starting at 1:30 p.m. The speakers for the December meeting will be from the Phoenix Herpetological Sanctuary. They will bring some animals, talk about their sanctuary and answer questions.
The Snowbird hiking season is underway. Hikers meet in area 14 of R.H. Johnson parking lot to sign liability waivers and pair up drivers and riders. Michael Anenen is the hike coordinator and communicator. He will send weekly emails detailing the weeks upcoming hike. Anenen and several other volunteers will lead C and B hikes. The SCW Masters Swimmers have coached workouts 7-8:30 a.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at the R.H. Johnson pool.
