The Sun City West Model Railroad Club’s HO/N scale model train club is located in the R.H. Johnson Recreation Center complex, 19803 R.H. Johnson Blvd., just across from Member Services. The hours are 9 a.m.-noon Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. There is a large HO DCC controlled and detailed layout with lots of equipment that can be used by members, or they can bring their own. A smaller N scale is also available for members. 

The G scale outdoor layout is located at the Beardsley Center by the horseshoe pits/mini golf. Hours vary as the temperature cools, usually 10 a.m.-noon or noon-2 p.m. Days of operation in-season are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. There are also Friday Night runs on the first Friday of each month while operating. 

The club also has the Choo-Choo Chicks, wives and supporters who help with the club’s fundraising and social events.

During the holiday season there will be special hours: 1-4 p.m. Nov. 21 and 22, at the HO/N clubhouse. On Dec. 21, 22 and 23 there will be holiday open house. It will encompass all-scale trains from N to G featuring Thomas, The Holiday Train and the Polar Express at the R.H. Johnson location. Holiday themes will be on display. Hours are 1-4 p.m.

Also, G scale trains will be featured with holiday themes at the Beardsley location.

RCSCW card holders are welcome to join the club and all visitors can join in. Member dues are $30 for the first year, name plates provided, and $20 each year after.
