Bike riders from the Sun City West Cyclists Club are making sure kids in the area are going to have a merry Christmas. The riders are donating 58 bikes and helmets to youth in the area through two different groups.
A ceremony to present the 40 bikes and helmets to the Dysart Community Center will take place at noon on Thursday, Dec. 14. Many cyclists who participated in the project will be at the event which will be followed by a pizza celebration.
“These are great bikes and helmets that the cyclists are donating,” John Barber who is heading up this project with his wife Karin Swanson said. “For many of these kids, this may be the only present they receive. If not, it will certainly be the biggest.”
