The Sun City Stomperz, a seven-piece jazz band, will return to its familiar digs for an upcoming show.
The group has played Charley’s at the Lakes restaurant in Westbrook Village for more than 15 years, performing from its Jazz Age songbook from the early 20th century.
Featuring the songs of Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Scott Joplin, Hoagy Carmichael, Fats Waller and the like, the Sun City Stomperz’ strong ensemble work and inventive solos invoke memories of the glory days of Bourbon Street.
