Sun City Softball Club gets set for new season

Posted

The Sun City Softball Club is hosting a “Welcome Back” event 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at Del Webb stadium, 10220 N. 107th Ave.

There will be pick-up games and a potluck luncheon. New players will be welcomed to the club.

New players can visit the field Sunday mornings for open batting practice prior to their new player (Green Team) evaluation. Individuals must be a resident of Sun City, have a valid recreation card and sign a waiver prior to practice.

When a new player is ready for their Green Team evaluation, a date will be scheduled for their evaluation through the Green Team manager. A panel of approved softball club raters will rate new players based on their skill level. After the new player is rated, the player is entered into the appropriate league.

The club has three leagues available depending upon a player’s skill level, American league being the highest skill level (1-3 rating), then Central league (4-6 rating) and the National league (7-9 rating).

Contact Green Team manager Rickie Toland at 509-264-3088 for more information.
