Sun City SAC group sets criteria

Will meet through summer

The Recreation Centers of Sun City Strategic Alternatives Committee continued its work of finding options for the Mountain View rebuild project.

The committee meets weekly 2 p.m. Friday at Oakmont Center, 10725 W. Oakmont Drive. Because that meeting follows the Independent’s weekly press time, regular reports from the meetings are presented a week late.

During its April 28 meeting, SAC members established metrics to be used to evaluate facility alternatives for Mountain View and others. According to information provided by the committee through RCSC, those metrics include historical and projected utilization of any new facility, estimated capital cost involved, estimated operating cost involved, qualitative factors that add to the quality of life of members, attractiveness of the amenity to existing and prospective members, redundancy of facility and amenities, disruption or displacement caused by construction of new facility and whether the amenity helps fulfill he Long Range Planning Committee’s proposed mission, vision or values.
