Before moon landings, modern air travel and FaceTime, Florence Carter was a young woman in Wichita, Kansas helping build aircraft parts during World War II. Now, as she celebrates her 100th birthday in Sun City, the original Rosie the Riveter is reflecting on a life that has spanned a century of change.
Florence, who reached the century mark of life April 21, looks back on her time in the factory fondly.
“It was a really nice time,” she said. “Good bosses and a good time. We had fun or I had fun working there… I just went along with the flow of whatever was going on.”
