Sun City rec board to consider electronic meeting motion

Some wanted criteria developed first

A plan to amend a Recreation Centers of Sun City bylaw regarding electronic attendance at meetings will be consider for final reading later this month.

A motion to amend the meetings bylaw to allow members to attend meetings through electronic means was introduced during the April 27 board meeting. After a lengthy discussion, the motion passed by a 5-3 vote. An attempt to postpone it and another attempt to specify how many board members must be present in person at meetings were each defeated.

Resident Ritchie Miller said he opposed the motion because the motion’s language already existed in Arizona Revised Statutes Title 10 and RCSC had to comply with that.
