Sun City Posse shares July activity, public safety updates

Volunteers report another busy month as Sheriff's Office discusses criminal damage and leaders emphasize heat safety.

Even as many volunteers head out of town for the summer, the Sun City Posse remains hard at work. At the organization's Aug. 4 monthly meeting, leaders reviewed July activity and shared public safety updates for residents.

The Posse logged more than 8,000 patrol calls, 1,139 incoming telephone calls and approximately 3,300 vacation watches during July, according to monthly statistics presented by Lt. Fay Moore.

Moore said the organization had 128 active members at the end of the month, although many volunteers leave Sun City during the summer.
