The Sun City Players Community Theater is in rehearsal for “The Cemetery Club,” a comedy by Ivan Menchell. The play will be directed by Annette See, who has not only performed in many shows, the latest of which was in “Suite Surrender,” but has also worked backstage as manager and props/costume organizer. See has served in all the top positions of the theater’s executive board and has been active as a member of the play selection committee.

The play centers around the friendship and love among three female friends who have known each other as married wives, but now who sustain each other as widows. Hear about the places they visited together and the fun they enjoyed before becoming widows. Through their stories of family, friendship, children, grandchildren and the special bond they share, audiences will be able to relate to them and recognize how all lives change and can be enriched as people grow older.

“I am very excited to be directing my first show at Sun City Players Community Theater,” stated See. “When I first saw ‘The Cemetery Club’ many years ago, I placed it on my list of plays I wished to direct. It made me laugh, cry and fall in love with both the story and the characters.”

“The Cemetery Club” will be presented 7 p.m. March 15, 16, 22 and 23, and 2 p.m. March 17 and 24, at the Mountain View Recreation Center, 9749 N. 107th Ave. Tickets are now available for $15 at suncityplayers.org. In-person box office sales will be available at the Fairway Recreation Center, 10600 W. Peoria Ave., the weeks of March 11-14 and March 18-21, 10 a.m.-noon Monday-Thursday.
