The project to replace the Viewpoint Lake will be completed about a month later than anticipated.
Heavier than normal rainfall during monsoon season and beyond and some problems with the pumps created the delay. Pacific Aquascapes officials had projected beginning work in the dry lake by Oct. 27, but are now estimated they will begin work Monday, Nov. 21.
“That last rain we had about two weeks ago dumped two inches, and that is not counting run off,” said Bill Cook, Recreation Centers of Sun City general manager.
