Sun City homes cut off from power after cactus fell

Crews reinstall lines

Some Sun City residents were without power for at least one day due to a fallen cactus.

Just more than 2,000 homes in the area of North 110th and West Peoria avenues went dark some time Nov. 29, according to a post on the Sun City AZ ChitChat Facebook page. Power was disrupted when a crew was removing a large saguaro from the backyard of a home. When the saguaro fell it took out power lines.

Arizona Public Service crews were working to restore power in the area the evening of Nov. 29.
