Sun City Grand drama, comedy club debuts ‘Occurrence’

The Sun City Grand Drama and Comedy Club will open its 2022–2023 season with the world premiere production of “The Occurrence” written by playwright Robert O. Davis.
In this play Tom is a retired professor who studies unusual events, such as deja vu and near-death experiences. One day while at the library he meets a dazed and confused young Irish woman and concerned for her welfare, brings her to his home to meet and stay with his Irish housekeeper.
A romance develops between Tom and the young woman.
“The Occurrence” delves into his family’s reaction to the romance, while also providing answers to the young woman’s mysterious past. The world premiere of this mysterial dramedy is not to be missed.
Show dates and times are:
* 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, Friday, Oct. 21 and Saturday, Oct. 22 and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23.
Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased online at granddrama.com, suncitygrand.com or in person at the Sun City Grand activities desk, 19753 N. Remington Drive, Surprise. The desk is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Tickets may also be available at the door 30 minutes before showtime. The play will be performed at the Sun City Grand Sonoran Plaza Ballroom main stage, 19789 N. Remington Drive, Surprise.
