This house fire looked like it started on the back patio and spread into the home, Schmitz stated. The exact cause remains under investigation.
No residents were injured, as no one was at the home when the fire began. The house is a total loss.
"The homeowners are snowbirds, so they were not there, but someone they had looking over the house was there. That person got out on their own when the fire started," Schmitz stated Monday.
