A study to determine the feasibility of merging the Sun City fire department with another entity is closing in on completion.
The study, conducted by Emergency Services Consulting International, will consider a broad scope while not targeting any specific entity with which to combine. Factors in the study to be considered are financial, personnel and all other aspects of operation. The study began in October.
Rob Schmitz, Sun City Fire and Medical Department acting chief, said the study is still in the data collection stage, but expects that to be complete by mid-April.
