An effort to research the possibility of a Sun City Fire and Medical Department merger with Arizona Fire & Medical Authority is proceeding on schedule.
SCFMD officials received one quote from a company to do the feasibility study and are waiting on three more. All quotes were expected to be received by the end of last week, according to Rob Schmitz, SCFMD assistant chief.
He added he did not use the formal request for proposal process for the quotes because that would have added more time to the process. Instead, he contacted four companies he knew did this kind of work and asked them for a quote.
