Sun City fire board considers vendors for merger study

Selection expected at special meeting

A study to determine the feasibility of merging Sun City Fire and Medical Department with Arizona Fire and Medical Authority got a tentative start.

The Sun City Fire District Board of Directors heard three presentations from vendors during its June 28 meeting. Making pitches to do the study were Emergency Services Consulting International, Center for Public Safety Management and Facets Consulting.

The process is a little behind schedule, as Sun City Fire District board member Steve Arnold said in May the board expected to begin reviewing the quotes in the first part of June and would like to have a contract for the study in place by July 1.
