Sun City fire board adopts $19.5M budget

Costs to increase 8%

The budget for the Sun City Fire and Medical Department for the coming year is official.

The Sun City Fire District board adopted the budget June 27 in the final action for the financial guide for the 2023-24 fiscal year. The balanced budget is $19.5 million compared with $17.5 million for 2022-23. That represents an 11.4% increase.

Inflation and a need to attract and retain quality personnel were factors in the increased budget, according to fire district officials.
