Sun City Concert Band announces October concert

The Sun City Concert Band presents “An Autumn Celebration” 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, in the Sundial Center auditorium, 14801 N. 103rd Ave.

This concert will feature several up-tempo marches including “The Klaxon”, “Normandy Beach”, “Fairest of the Fair” and “March Chalumeau”. A “Salute To the Services” will also be played and was arranged by local arranger Sandy Kerekes. “The Magic Trumpet” will be played by Dan Reed and “You Raise Me Up” will be sung by Jane Higgs. There will also be selections from “The Phantom of the Opera” and “Pirates of the Caribbean”.

Kenneth Jaeger will direct the Concert Band along with Charles Musgrave, Associate Conductor.

Admission is free and open to Recreation Centers of Sun City cardholders and their guests. Donations will be accepted at the conclusion of the concert to defray cost of new music and RCSC auditorium rental fees.

The band’s next concert is 2 p.m. Dec. 9 in the Sundial Center Auditorium.
