Sun City area clubs seek liquor licenses

Some encounter obstacles

Nonprofit clubs that want to serve alcohol at gatherings used to have to be registered with the Arizona Corporation Commission until 2021 legislation changed that.

But some clubs continue to encounter obstacles in their request license.

“What I was informed in the summer of 2021 was that any 501c organization would no longer need to be registered under Arizona Corporate Commissions,” Kasey Huhta, Recreation Centers of Sun City West special events manager, stated in an email. “However, many clubs are being denied because they are not registered.”
