Sullivan: Wearing masks proven smarter choice, safer

There is enough information available to determine the advantages of wearing a mask.

Now, of course everyone can chose to believe or not believe information gathered by what most of us consider reputable sites, that’s your choice.

In a article from [a national] newspaper regarding the wearing of masks during the heart of the pandemic these are the numbers reported and collected. Between September 2020 and May 2021, the number of flu cases reported in the United States was 2,038. The prior year was 38 million.

Several news outlets ... reported similar results. According to the CDC, the main difference in these cases was the inclusion of masks, washing hands, and social distancing. I think that most of us are not surprised by these results.

This flu number difference is alarming even if you cut those numbers in half or even more. A mask may not be a great barrier but it is a barrier.

Can’t argue that fact. Anything that gets in the way of anything is a barrier.
