Study measures Surprise holiday budgets

Residents were expected to spend just under $1,000

Surprise residents who felt they spent too much money on gifts and food over the holidays, can feel better about this: It could have been worse.

A study from personal finance website WalletHub predicted Surprise residents would have a budget of $959 for the holiday season, including gifts and food.

But the study found that was only the 179th highest predicted budget out of 570 cities that were studied.
