Students across southwest Valley walk out in protest of ICE

Students at every high school in the Agua Fria Union High School District walked out of class as part of a larger, student-led protest opposing federal immigration enforcement, joining dozens of campuses across the Phoenix area in a coordinated day of action.

The walkout was tied to a national campaign known as “ICE Out of Everywhere,” which calls people to protest Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations and broader federal immigration policies.

The campaign originated with Minnesota-based Black and Somali student organizations in response to fatal encounters between Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and civilians and has since spread to schools nationwide.
