Stephie L. Metcalf, 84Stephie L. Metcalf, 84, formerly of Apache Junction, passed away June 3, 2007 in Auburn, Wash.Mrs. Metcalf was born in Drayton, N.D. on June 10, 1922 to Lawrence and Helen Riske. She was the fifth of 16 children and had a twin brother, Stephen.She married Henry Budzeak on April 25, 1942. They had seven children. After his death in 1975, she married Bill Metcalf on March 2, 1984.They moved to Apache Junction and lived there until his death in 2002. She moved to Washington in June 2003 to live closer to her children and grandchildren.She was an active member of St. Mary"s Altar Society, the VFW, the American Legion, and a volunteer at White Sands Estates, where she lived in Arizona. For most of her life, she was a wife, mother, favorite aunt and homemaker. In her last years, she enjoyed bingo, crossword puzzles, slot machines, traveling and visiting with her family and friends.Survivors include her son, Gary; daughters, Lois, Carol, Mary, Darlene, Gail; step-son, Jim; and 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.Burial was with her husband, Bill, in National Cemetery in Auburn, Wash.
