An Arizona Weights and Measures Services Division administrator told a special legislative committee Tuesday that the state would not be granted a waiver to use another fuel type because of pricing.
The administrator, Michelle Wilson, said state officials cannot remove federal U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requirements of the Clean Air Act that require state officials to use cleaner burning gasoline to help protect air quality.
Wilson spoke to a Joint Legislative Ad Hoc Study Committee from the Arizona State Legislature on Air Quality and Energy.
