State inmate in Florence gets death sentence for 2014 prison murder

A prisoner at the Arizona State Prison Complex-Eyman South Unit in Florence has been sentenced to death for the 2014 killing of another inmate.

A Pinal County Superior Court jury sentenced Julio Salazar, 41, to death on Aug. 1. A jury had previously found Salazar guilty of premeditated first-degree murder in the beating and stabbing death of Lino Flores, 53, according to a press release from the Pinal County Attorney’s Office.
