Arizona to get $108M from opioid settlement with Purdue, Sackler family

Arizona is set to receive about $108 million from a national opioid settlement involving the Purdue Pharma and its owners.

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced the amounts and settlement Friday with Purdue Pharma and its owners, the Sackler family, capping nearly a decade of work by attorneys general from across the country in pursuing investigations and litigation over Purdue’s and the Sacklers’ role in fueling the opioid crisis.

Attorney generals across multiple states launched an investigation of Purdue in 2016.
